Mr. Ho obtained his
formal training from one of the big four accounting firms after he graduated
in 1981. He founded Horace Ho & Company, Certified Public Accountants
in 1987. Established as a small size accounting firm in Hong Kong, the firm has grown to a
5-offices 40 staff medium size firm and provides one-stop
accounting and assurance services for international clientele. Mr. Ho's area of special interest is in international assets and tax planning, specialized in structuring and
tax systems in Greater China and offshore vehicles.
Mr.
Ho has been working for clients of Asia-Pacific area for over 25
years. He was involved in certain major "Transformation of
State Owned Enterprises into Share Enterprises" back in
1994, when he was engaged as reporting accountants of some pioneer
enterprises selected for listing stock exchange outside
China. Mr. Ho is still actively serving top clients from
Mainland China.
From
1997 onwards, Mr. Ho has been involved in serving clients from
Taiwan expanding out of Taiwan into the world. Mr. Ho provides
international asset and tax planning services for them and is
now serving several top 20 firm in Taiwan listed on the Taiwan
Stock Exchange.
In
recent years Mr. Ho, working together with his associates in
Shanghai and Macao, has developed a reputation in assurance and
offshore services
He is also very
active in community services. He is a member of the Executive Committee, Scout Council and Chairman of the Finance Committee, Scout Association of Hong Kong. He is also a
member of the Audit Committee, World Scout Committee (Organisation Mondiale du Mouvement Scout) and World Scout Foundation, both based in Geneva. Mr Ho had been a member of the Rotary Club from 1987 and served on the Board of the Directors as Hon.
Secretary and Hon. Treasurer for several years.
Mr Ho
was the
Registrar of the Asia Pacific Offshore Institute from 2000 to
2006. He is the
author of "BVI Company-an Administration Guide" (境外公司管理手冊-英屬維爾京群島)
and co-author of "Offshore Financial planning" (境外理財藍圖) published in Taiwan, in 2002 and 1999
respectively. He had also been a columnist of various financial magazines and newspapers - "Oriental Express", "Financial Planner", "Calibre",
"Asia Offshore Journal", "Offshore Financial Centres" (published by Financial Times). He has been invited as guest speakers for various seminars and
conferences organised by international professional bodies
(STEP, ITPA) to deliver paper and speeech in matters relating to
trust, taxation and company laws and practices in Asia Pacific region, in particular China and Taiwan.
